BUKKAPATNAM VILLAGE & MANDAL, ANANTAPUR DISTRICT TO BE A

PROTECTED MONUMENT.

N O T I F I C A T I O N

Whereas, it has been brought to the notice of the Government of Andhra

Pradesh that the Ancient Temple known as Sri Varagiri Venkataramana Swamy

Temple, Bukkapatnam Village & Mandal, Anantapur District, as specified in the

appended Schedule, is considered to be of Archaeological and Historical importance;

And whereas, the Government are of the opinion that the said

Sri Varagiri Venkataramana Swamy Temple, Bukkapatnam Village & Mandal,

Anantapur District requires protection under the provision of the Andhra Pradesh

Ancient and Historical Monuments and Archaeological Sites and Remains Act,

1960 (Act VII of 1960);

And whereas, the Government, have issued Notification in G.O.Ms.No.22,

YAT & C (PMU) Department, Dated: 09.10.2009 and the same has been published

in the Andhra Pradesh Gazette No.47 Part - I, Dated: 19-11-2009 at Page 757,

has published its intention to declare the said Ancient Temple to be a protected

monument by giving two months notice as required under sub-section (1) of

Section 4 of the said Act;

And whereas, no objections or suggestions have been received by the

Government to the declaration of the said Sri Varagiri Venkataramana Swamy

Temple, Bukkapatnam Village & Mandal, Anantapur District, to be a protected

monument during the said period of two months;

Now, therefore, in exercise of the powers conferred by sub-section (3) of

Section 4 of the Andhra Pradesh Ancient and Historical Monuments and

Archaeological Sites and Remains Act, 1960 (Act VII of 1960) and in supersession

of the orders issued in G.O. Ms. No.21, YAT&C Deptt., dt:13.01.2011 the

Governor of Andhra Pradesh hereby declares that Sri Varagiri Venkataramana

Swamy Temple, Bukkapatnam Village & Mandal, Anantapur District as specified

in the schedule to be a protected monument as the same having been previously

published in the Andhra Pradesh Gazette as required under sub-section (3) of

Section 4 of the said Act.
