AMENDMENT TO THE SUSPENSION OF SENTENCE ON PAROLE RULES, 1981.

NOTIFICATION

In exercise of the powers conferred under sub section (5) of Section 432

of the Code of Criminal Procedure, 1973 (Central Act 2 of 1974) read with clause (17)

of sub section (1) of Section 59 of the Prisons Act, 1894 (Central Act IX of 1894),

the Governor of Andhra Pradesh hereby makes the following amendment to the

Suspension of Sentence on Parole Rules, 1981 issued in G.O.Ms.No.647, Home

(Prisons.C) Department, Dt: 23^rd October, 1981 and published in rules Supplement

to Part-I of the Andhra Pradesh Gazette Dated the 3^rd December, 1981 and as

amended from time to time:-

AMENDMENT

In the said Rules:

After rule-24, the following rule shall be added, namely:-

“25. Special Parole for a period of 30 days be granted to all

convict women pregnant prisoners irrespective of the Sections

under which they are sentenced and irrespective of the sentence

they have undergone, to have her delivery outside the prison.

Only in exceptional cases constituting high security risk or

cases of equivalent grave descriptions, this facility can be denied”.
