EXEMPTION OF STAMP DUTY AND REGISTRATION FEE PAYABLE ON THE DEED

OF EXCHANGE OF LAND BETWEEN APIIC AND CMR GROUP UNDER

SECTION 9(1) (a) OF INDIAN STAMP ACT, 1899 AND SECTION 78 OF THE

REGISTRATION ACT 1908 - FOR DEVELOPMENT OF AN INTERNATIONAL

CONVENTION CENTRE AT VISAKHAPATNAM.

ORDER:

Post bifurcation of the State, Government of Andhra Pradesh lacks a

state-of-art convention centre. Visakhapatnam, even though the largest city in

Andhra Pradesh, lacks the capacity to hold major conventions which is a major

impediment for conducting important knowledge and business meets and

conferences. Government have therefore decided to develop an International

Convention Centre at Visakhapatnam on a PPP format in a site at Harbour

Park Road / R.K.Beach Road in Visakhapatnam City. Out of the said land an

extent of Ac.3.40 cents is owned by CMR Group. It is therefore proposed for

allotment of the said beach front land in T.S.No.1011/P owned by CMR Group

to the API I C. In lieu of CMR land, the following 6 land parcels for an extent

of Ac.4.85 cts to be given to CMR Group :

NOTIFICATION-I

In exercise of the powers conferred by clause(a) of sub-section (1) of

Section 9 of the Indian Stamp Act, 1899 (Act II of 1899), the Governor of

Andhra Pradesh hereby remits the Stamp duty in full chargeable under

Article 27 of Schedule 1A to the said Act payable on the Deed of Exchange

of land between APIIC & CMR Group in respect of lands mentioned at

para one supra in Visakhapatnam city for development of an International

Convention Centre at Visakhapatnam.

NOTIFICATION-II

In exercise of the powers conferred by Section 78 of the Registration

Act, 1908 (Act XVI of 1908), the Governor of Andhra Pradesh hereby makes

the following amendment to the “Table of Fees” under Registration

Fees issued in G.O.Ms.No.463, Revenue (Registration-I) Department,

Dated : the 17^th August, 2013 and published at pages 1 to 3 of Part I of

Extraordinary issue of the Andhra Pradesh Gazette dated the 26 ^th

August 2013 as subsequently amended from time to time:

AMENDMENT

In the said “Table of fee” after category 5(x) the following shall be

added namely 5(y):-

5 (y) No Registration fee shall be leviable on the Deed of Exchange of land

between APIIC& CMR Group in respect of lands mentioned at para

one supra in Visakhapatnam city for development of an International Convention

Centre at Visakhapatnam under Section 78 of the Registration Act, 1908.
