THIRD CONVOCATION
NOTIFICATION
Memo No. AGCO1-28/174/2018,- The 3rd Convocation of Dr.YSR Horticultural
University (formerly Andhra Pradesh Horticultural University) for conferring degrees is
proposed to be held in the month of August, 2018 at University Head Quarters,
Venkataramannagudem, West Godavari District, The exact date and time of the convocation
will be communicated. later. All the UG & PG candidates who have qualified themselves
for the award of degrees during the period from 11-08-2016 to 25-07-2018 are eligible for
admission into this convocation. His Excellency The Governor of Andhra Pradesh
and Chancellor of this University will give only the Ph.D. degrees by hand and others
should take the degrees from their seats.
Applications for award of the degree should be made in the prescribed form and
sent together with the demand draft of the prescribed fee so as to reach the Registrar,
Dr.YSR Horticultural University, Venkataramannagudem not later than 31-07-2018.
Application forms for the purpose can be downloaded from the University
website www.drysrhu.edu.in There are separate application forms for the award of
degree In-person’ or ‘In-absentia’. Therefore while downloading the form, candidates
should specifically download and fillup whether they intend to take the degree ‘In-person’
or ‘In-absentia’ by enclosing DD for Rs.900/- and Rs.1,000/- respectively. Candidates
seeking their degrees In-person’ should be present invariably one day in advance to the
convocation to receive them. The D.D should be drawn in favour of COMPTROLLER,
Dr. YSRHU, VENKATARAMANNAGUDEM (Preferably in Andhra Bank).

Applications neither submitted in the prescribed forms nor sent together with the
required DD of the prescribed fee and also not found correct in all respects, (or) not received
on or after received due date, will be summarily rejected. As a safeguard against possible
postal delays, candidates are advised to submit their applications sufficiently well in
advance of the due date. Enquiries from candidates as to the receipt of their applications
to the University Offices will not receive any attention. Candidates are advised to submit
their duly filled application form alongwith prescribed fee (DD)should be sent to
REGISTRAR, Dr.YSR HORTICULTURAL UNIVERSITY, VENKATARAMANNAGUDEM-
534101, WEST GODAVARI DISTRICT through REGISTERED POST WITH
ACKNOWLEDGEMENT DUE so as to ensure that their applications have safely reached
this office. Along with filled in applications both UG & PG candidates who wish to take their
degree either In-person or In-absentia should also enclose two of their latest passport size
colour photos duly indicating their Name and I.D.No. on the reverse side of the
Photograph for affixing them on their degree certificates.
Admission cards for admission to the convocation will be dispatched about seven
days in advance to the address furnished in the applications. Candidates are requested to
mention clearly in the application forms the address to which their admission cards should be
sent in bold letters
Candidates who do not receive the admission cards upto three days before the
convocation date or who find their names on the admission cards differing from those
given in their applications are advised to communicate the fact immediately to the Registrar
and be present at the University Office two days before the date of convocation in order
to receive duplicate admission card or to get their names on the admission cards
corrected. No candidate will be admitted to the Convocation Hall without valid
admission card.
Candidates must be present in the Convocation Hall at least half an hour before the
time fixed.
DRESS : Every candidate who attends the convocation should be properly dressed.
NOTE : Women candidates to wear their normal dress.
SCARF : All UG degree recipients including women candidates should wear a
cream coloured scarf containing a single border of the colour of the faculty i.e. Orange
for Horticulture.
In case of P.G. degree candidates, there will be double border and in. the case
of Pn.D degree candidates there will be triple borders. The scarf should be neatly worn
round the neck like a scout scarf with a knot. The University will make arrangements for
the supply of scarf on hire basis.
