NOTIFICATION

Whereas, Government have considered that strikes, mass leaves, activities

hampering the distribution of scheduled commodities under the Public Distribution

System in the State of Andhra Pradesh would prejudicially affect the maintenance

of supplies and services necessary for the life of the community or would result

in infliction of grave hardship on the community:

And whereas, Government are satisfied that it is expedient in the public

interest to declare the services in Targeted Public Distribution System in the

State of Andhra Pradesh as an essential service;

Now, therefore, in exercise of the powers conferred under sub clause (vi)

of clause (a) of the sub-section (1) of Section 2 of the Andhra Pradesh Essential

Services Maintenance Act, 1971 (Act No.20 of 1971), the Governor of Andhra

Pradesh hereby declares the services in Targeted Public Distribution System

in the State of Andhra Pradesh as an essential service for the purpose of the

said Act with immediate effect.
