EXTENSION OF THE TERM OF SPECIAL OFFICERS IN RESPECT OF CERTAIN

MUNICIPAL CORPORATIONS, MUNICIPALITY AND NAGAR PANCHAYATS –

ORDERS – ISSUED.

NOTIFICATION

Whereas, the term of the Special Officers of Greater Visakhapatnam Municipal

Corporation, Guntur Municipal Corporation, Ongole Municipal Corporation, Tirupathi

Municipal Corporation, Kurnool Municipal Corporation, Kandukur Municipality and Nagar

Panchayats of Rajampet, Nellimarla & Rajam expired on 31-12-2018.

And whereas, Government is of the opinion that ordinary elections to the above

Urban Local Bodies could not be held in accordance with the provisions of the Andhra

Pradesh Municipalities Act, 1965, the Visakhapatnam Municipal Corporations Act, 1981,

the Andhra Pradesh Municipal Corporations Act, 1994 due to pending Court Cases in respect

of certain Urban Local Bodies.

Now, therefore, in exercise of the powers conferred by the proviso under section (1)

of section 62-A of the Andhra Pradesh Municipalities Act, 1965, and sections 14 and 17 of

the Andhra Pradesh Municipal Corporation Act, 1994, read with section 70 G of Greater

Hyderabad Municipal Corporation Act, 1955, the Governor of Andhra Pradesh hereby

extends the term of the Special Officers of the Municipal Corporations, Municipalities for a

further period as indicated in column-III of the Annexure.
