The following notification of the Election Commission of India, New Delhi,

No.37/LC/2020-ERS(Vol-II), dated 31^st December, 2020/ 10 Pausha, 1942(Saka) is published:-

NOTIFICATION

Whereas, the Election Commission had announced the schedule for de-novo preparation

of electoral rolls in respect of Teachers’ Constituencies of State Legislative Council of Andhra

Pradesh, namely, East-West Godavari Teachers’ Constituency and Krishna-Guntur Teachers’

Constituency with reference to 01.11.2020 as the qualifying date, vide its letter

No.37/LC/LET/ECI/FUNC/ERD/ER/2020-(Vol-II), dated 22^nd September, 2020; and

Whereas, the period of filing claims and objections was fixed from 1^st December, 2020 to

31^st December, 2020; and

Whereas, the draft rolls were published on 1^st December, 2020; and

Whereas, Chief Electoral Officer of Andhra Pradesh has requested for extension of the

period of filing claims and objections due to certain administrative reasons; and

Whereas, the Election Commission has considered the matter and decided that the period

of filing claims and objections in the said Teachers’ Constituencies of Legislative Council of

Andhra Pradesh should be extended up to 18^th January, 2021;

Now, therefore, the Election Commission, in exercise of the powers conferred by proviso

to Rule 12 of the Registration of Electors Rules, 1960, hereby extends the period for filing claims

and objections upto 18^th January, 2021 for ongoing preparation of electoral rolls with reference to

01.11.2020 as the qualifying date, for the said Teachers’ Constituencies of Legislative Councils of

the State mentioned above.
