NOTIFICATION

In exercise of the powers conferred under Section 200 and 201 of the Andhra

Pradesh Panchayat Raj Act, 1994 and the Andhra Pradesh Conduct of Election of Member

(Co-opted), President and Vice-President of Mandal Praja Parishad and Members (Co-

opted), Chairperson and Vice-Chairpersons of Zilla Praja Parishad Rules, 2006 issued in

G.O.Ms.No. 173, P.R. & R.D. (Elections) Dept., dt.10.05.2006, the State Election

Commission, hereby, directs the Collector & District Election Authority, East Godavari to

authorize a Gazetted Officer of the Government to conduct election of Member (Co-opted),

President and Vice-President of Yatapaka Mandal Praja Parishad, for which the ordinary

election of MPTC Members were held in pursuance of the Notification No. 1778/SEC-

B1/2021, dt.01.11.2021, in accordance with the procedure laid down in the said Rules and

specifies the schedule for the election to the said offices in the Annexure appended to this

Notification.

(Schedule for conduct of election to Member (Co-opted), President and

Vice-President of Yatapaka Mandal Praja Parishad)

Notice to be given in Form-II by the Gazetted Officer authorised by

the District Collector, calling for Special Meeting for conduct of election

of Member (Co-opted), President and Vice-President of Yatapaka

Mandal Praja Parishad.

(This notice should be given to all the Members of Yatapaka Mandal

Praja Parishad specified in clauses (i) to (iv) of Sec.149 (1) of Andhra

Pradesh Panchayat Raj Act 1994)

Note : 1.

If for any reason the election of Member (Co-opted) is not held on the aforesaid date, the

Special Meeting for election of President and Vice-President of Mandal Praja Parishad shall not

be convened and the matter shall be reported to State Election Commission immediately.

After completion of election of Member (Co-opted), if for any reason the election of President

and Vice-President of Mandal Praja Parishad is not held on the date fixed above, i.e.,

22.11.2021, it shall be held at 11.00 AM on the next day, i.e., 23.11.2021 whether or not it is

observed as holiday by the Mandal Praja Parishad concerned [as per proviso under Section

153(3) of A.P. Panchayat Raj Act 1994].

When an election notice is issued for conducting election to both the offices of President and

Vice-President, no election to the office of the Vice-President shall be conducted, unless the

office of the President is filled up. Only after completion of election of President, the Presiding

Officer shall conduct election to the office of Vice-President [Rule 10 (4) of the said rules].
