NOTIFICATION

In exercise of the powers conferred by Sections 200 and 201 of the Andhra Pradesh

Panchayat Raj Act, 1994 and the Andhra Pradesh Conduct of Election of

Co-opted Member, President and Vice-Presidents of Mandal Praja Parishads and

Co-opted Members, Chairperson and Vice-Chairpersons of Zilla Praja Parishad Rules, 2006

issued in G.O.Ms.No.173, P.R. & R.D. (Elections) Dept., dt.10.05.2006, the State Election

Commissioner, hereby, directs the Collector and District Election Authority, Kurnool to

conduct

election

to

the

casual

vacancy

in

the

office

of

Chairperson,

Zilla Praja Parishad, Kurnool, in accordance with the procedure laid down in the said

Rules and specifies the Election Schedule for the election to the said office in the Annexure

appended to this Notification.

(Notification No. 1720/SEC-B1/2021-2, Date : 28.12.2021)

(Schedule for conduct of election to the casual vacancy of Chairperson,

Zilla Praja Parishad, Kurnool)

1. Notice to be given in Form-IX by the District Collector,

Kurnool, calling for Special Meeting for conduct of election

of Chairperson, Zilla Praja Parishad, Kurnool.

(This Notice should be given to all the Members of the Zilla

Praja Parishad specified in clauses (i) to (v) of Section

177(3) of A.P. Panchayat Raj Act, 1994)

On or before

31.12.2021

2. Date and time for Special Meeting for the election of

Chairperson, Zilla Praja Parishad, Kurnool.

At 11.00 AM on

04.01.2022

Note:

1. Quorum for election of Chairperson shall be fulfilled as stipulated under Rule 20

A.P. Conduct of Election of Co-opted Member, President and Vice-Presidents of

Mandal Praja Parishads and Co-opted Members, Chairperson and Vice-Chairpersons

of Zilla Praja Parishad Rules, 2006.

2. If for any reason election of Chairperson is not held on 04.01.2022, it shall be held

on the next day, i.e., on 05.01.2022 at 11.00 A.M. whether or not it is observed as

a holiday by the Zilla Praja Parishad, Kurnool. If the election is also not held on

05.01.2022, the matter shall be reported to the State Election Commission for fixing

another date for holding election under Rule 19 (3) of the said Rules.
