NOTIFICATION

In exercise of the powers conferred by Sections 200 and 201 of the Andhra Pradesh

Panchayat Raj Act, 1994 read with Andhra Pradesh Conduct of Election of

Co-opted Member, President and Vice-Presidents of Mandal Praja Parishad and

Co-opted Members, Chairperson and Vice-Chairpersons of Zilla Praja Parishad Rules, 2006,

the State Election Commissioner, hereby, directs any Gazetted Officer of the Government

authorized by the Collector and District Election Authority, Krishna to conduct election to

the casual vacancy of Vice-President, Mandal Praja Parishad, Agiripalli in

accordance with the procedure laid down in the said Rules and specifies the Election

Schedule in the Annexure appended to this Notification.

As the election schedule was already specified by the State Election Commission for

conduct of election to one more Vice-President in all Mandal Praja Parishads in the State

vide Notification No. 1720/SEC-B1/2021-1, dt.28.12.2021 in pursuance of Act No. 14 of

2021, the Presiding Officer of Special Meeting shall conduct elections to the two (2)

Vice-Presidents of Agiripalli Mandal Praja Parishad on 04.01.2022.

(Schedule for conduct of election to the casual vacancy of Vice-President,

Mandal Praja Parishad of Agiripalli in Krishna District)

1.

Notice to be given by the Gazetted Officer authorized by

District Collector, calling for Special Meeting for conduct of

election of Vice-President of Mandal Praja Parishad.

(This notice should be given to all Members of Mandal Praja

Parishad specified in clauses (i) to (v) of Section 149 (1) of

Andhra Pradesh Panchayat Raj Act, 1994)

On or before

31.12.2021

Date and time for Special Meeting for the election.

At 11.00 AM on

04.01.2022

Note:

1. Election shall be conducted for two (2) Vice-Presidents of MPP Agiripalli, including

the one casual vacancy which occurred due to death of elected Member of

Boddanapalli MPTC & Vice-President of Agiripalli MPP.

2. Quorum for election of Vice-President shall be fulfilled as stipulated under Rule 9 of

the Andhra Pradesh Conduct of Election of Co-opted Member, President and Vice-

Presidents of Mandal Praja Parishads and Co-opted Members, Chairperson and Vice-

Chairpersons of Zilla Praja Parishad Rules, 2006.

3. If for any reason election is not held on 04.01.2022, it shall be held on the next

day, i.e., on 05.01.2022 at 11.00 A.M., whether or not it is observed as a holiday by

the Mandal Praja Parishad. If the election is also not held on 05.01.2022, the

matter shall be reported to the State Election Commission for fixing another date

for holding election under Rule 8 (3) of the said Rules.
