In the reference 1st read above, Government have appointed Sri Shaik Abdul Kalim, S/o

Mohammed Meer Khairullah Shah, Pasumarru Village, Chilakaluripet Mandal, as Government

Kazi for Chilakaluripet Assembly Constituency, Guntur District initially for a period of three (3)

years for performing Marriages of Muslim community only as per Section(2) of the KhaziS Act,

1880 (Central Act XIIl of 1880).

submitted a proposal for extension of service of Sri Shaik Abdul Kalim, S/o Mohammed Meer

Khairullah

Kazi

for

Chilakaluripet Assembly Constituency, Guntur District for a futher period of 3 years. Further, the

District Collector, Guntur has obtained report from the District Minorities Welfare Ofcer, Guntur

and stated that performance reports of the applicant Sri Sk. Abdul Kalim S/o Mohd. Meer

Khairullah Shah, obtained from the following Committees/ Mosque situated at Chilakaluripet and

Pasumarru villages.-

Masjid-a-Subahanee, Subhani Nagar, Chilakaluripet.

i. Aminiya Maseedu Development Committee, K.B. Road Chikaluripet.

ii. Masjid-e-Aamir Kaleemi, Pasumarru, Chilakaluripet.

iv.Masjid-e-Shahid, Pasumarru, Chilakaluripet.

All the aforementioned committees have stated that, the duties entrusted earlier to the applicant

Sri Sk. Abdul Kalim S/o Mohd. Meer Khairullah Shah have been completed with satisfaction and

performed with transparency without any complications and requested to extend services of Sri

Sk. Abdul

Meer Khairullah for next 3 years as Government Khazi

Chilakaluripet Assembly Constituency. Further, he has stated that, the applicant peformed 400

marriages to the Muslim Community People and also redressed the grievances of Muslim

Community People and the Anjuman-E- lslameya Committee situated in Chilakaluripet area have

also recommended his candidature. Finally, the District Collector, Guntur has requested the

Government to appoint Sri. Sk.Abdul Kalim S/o. Mohd Khairullah Shah as Government Khazi of

Chilakaluripet Town for a period of three (3) years to perform marriage to the Muslim Community

People under the provisions contained in the Sec. 2 of Kazi's Act, 1880

After careful examination of the proposal of the Collector & District Magistrate, Guntur

District. Government hereby extend the tenure of Sri Shaik Abdul Kalim, S/o Mohammed Meer

Khairullah Shah, Pasumarru Village, Chilakaluripet Mandal, as Government Kazi for

Chilakaluripet Assembly Constituency, Guntur District for a further period of three (3) years w.ef

22.04.2019 to 21.04.2022 for performing Marriages of Muslim Community only, as per Section(2)

of the Kazis Act, 1880 (Central Act Xll of 1880) subject to the following conditions

1. The Kazi is answerable to the Government for his actions.

2. The appointment of the Kazi can be revoked by the Government on receipt of

complaints /verification of records or in extreme cases without notice, if malafide is

established as per record

3. The Kazi shall not indulge any illegal activity in the conduct of marriages nor infringe

any law established by the Government

4. The Kazi shall not carry out marriage of any minor

5. The Kazi shall not act in any way which is prohibited in Islam or is not permissible in

Islam

(PTO)

6. The Kazi shall not conduct contract marriages

7. The Kazi or his Naib Kazi shall not perform any marrmage, in any area, beyond his

specified Jurisdiction

8 The Kazi shall charge the specified fee and nothing more than that.

9. The Kazi shall appoint not more than three (3) Naib Kazis and the names of such Naib

Kazis shall be informed to the Government

10. Government shall have the right to take disciplinary action against the Kazi, in case of

any contravention of Law or of any conditions specified above

11 The Kazi shall hand-over the Marriage Record to the Wakf Board, at the end of the

tenui

If any question arises whether any person has been rightly extended the services for

further period of three years as Kazi under the above said Section, the decision thereof by the

State Government shall be conclusive. The State Government may, if it thinks fit, suspend or

remove any Kazi appointed under this Section, who is guilty of any misconduct in the execution

of his Office, or who is for a continuous period of six months absent from the local area for which

he is appointed, or leaves such local area for the purpose of residing elsewhere, or is declared

an insolvent or desires to be discharged from the office, or who refuses or becomes in the opinion

of the State Government unfit, or personally incapable to discharge the duties of office.

The following Notification shall be published in the next issue of Andhra Pradesh

State Gazette.

NOTIFICATION

"In exercise of the powers conferred under Section (2) of the Kazis Act, 1880 (Central Act

XIl of 1880), the Government of Andhra Pradesh, after consulting the Principal Mohammadan

residents of local area, hereby extend the period of Sri Shaik Abdul Kalim, S/o Mohammed Meer

Khairullah Shah, Pasumarru Village, Chilakaluripet Mandal,

as Government

Kazi

for

Chilakaluripet Assembly Constituency, Guntur District for a futher period of three (3) years w.e.f

22.04.2019 to 21.04.2022 for performing Marriages of Muslim Community only".

The Collector and District Magistrate, Guntur / the Chief Executive Officer, A.P. State Waqf

Board, Vijayawada is directed to take necessary action accordingly.
