AMENDMENT TO THE ANDHRA PRADESH PANCHAYATI RAJ & RURAL DEVELOPMENT

ENGINEERING SERVICE RULES.

NOTIFICATION

In exercise of the powers conferred by the proviso to Article 309 of the

Constitution of India, the Governor of Andhra Pradesh hereby makes the following

amendments to the Special Rules for the Andhra Pradesh Panchayati Raj & Rural

Development Engineering Service issued in G.O.Ms.No.15, dt:08.01.1999 of PR & RD

(Estt.III) Dept, and published in the Part.1 Extra-Ordinary issue of the Andhra Pradesh

Gazette No.14, Dated: 13.01.1999 as subsequently amended from time to time.

AMENDMENTS

In the said rules, Rule No.1, Category-2 and Category-4 of Class.A of Rule No.2,

Sl.No.2 of Class.A of Rule No.3, Note(4) of Rule No.3 and Rule No.7 shall be substituted

as follows :-

NOTIFICATIONS BY GOVERNMENT

Rule No.1: SHORT TITLE

These rules shall be called “The Andhra Pradesh Panchayat Raj Engineering

Service Rules”.

Rule No.2: CONSTITUTION

The Andhra Pradesh Panchayat Raj Engineering Service Rules shall consist of the

following categories of posts, namely:

Rule No.2 Class.A. Category.2 : Chief Engineer, Panchayat Raj

Rule No.2 Class.A. Category.4 : Executive Engineer, Panchayat Raj

Rule No.3 Class.A Sl.No.2 : Chief Engineer, Panchayat Raj

Rule.No.3 Note (4)

The vacancies in the category of Non-technical Personal Assistant to the Engineer-in-

Chief / Chief Engineer shall be filled by prescribing the ratio 2:1 i.e. (02) posts meant for

Superintendents in Engineer-in-Chief, Panchayat Raj Office and (01) post meant for

Superintendents for Circle Offices by maintaining two separate seniority lists for

Superintendents of the Engineer-in-Chief, Panchayat Raj Office and for Superintendents of

Circle offices.

Rule No.7:

Unless otherwise specified elsewhere in these rules, no person shall be

eligible for appointment by transfer or promotion unless he has put in not less

than two years of service in the category from which such appointment by

transfer or promotion is made.
