In exercise of the powers conferred by Sections 200 and 201 of the A.P. Panchayat Raj Act,

1994 read with Andhra Pradesh Conduct of Election of Member (Co-opted), President and Vice-

Presidents of Mandal Praja Parishads and Members (Co-opted), Chairperson and Vice-Chairpersons

of Zilla Praja Parishad Rules, 2006 issued in G.O.Ms.No.173, P.R. & R.D. (Elections) Dept., dated

10.05.2006, the State Election Commissioner, hereby, directs any Gazetted Officer of the

Government authorized by the Collector & District Election Authorities concerned to conduct the

election to the casual vacancies of Member (Co-opted) of Mandal Praja Parishads shown below in

accordance with the procedure laid down in the said Rules and specifies the election schedule in

the Annexure appended to this Notification.

ELECTION SCHEDULE

Notice to be given in Form-II (with slight modification, i.e.,

deletion of Point No. (3) which relates to the election of

President / Vice-President of MPP) by the Gazetted Officers

authorized by the concerned District Collectors calling for

Special Meeting for conduct of elections of Member (Co-

opted) of concerned Mandal Praja Parishads.

(Notice shall be given to all the Members of Mandal Praja

Parishad specified in clauses (i) to (iv) of Sec.149 (1) of A.P.

Panchayat Raj Act, 1994)

On or before

Date & Time of Special Meeting and Schedule:

(a) Receipt of Nominations.

Before 10.00 AM on

27.03.2025

(b) Scrutiny of Nominations.

After 10.00 AM, but

before 12.00 Noon on

27.03.2025

(c) Publication of list of validly nominated candidates.

At 12.00 Noon on

27.03.2025

(d) Time for withdrawal of candidature.

Before 1.00 PM on

27.03.2025

(e) Meeting for administration of oath and conduct of

elections to Member (Co-opted) of concerned MPPs.

(Members, if any, who have not taken oath in previous

meetings, shall be administered oath duly complying with

the relevant rules)

At 1.00 PM on

(f) Publication of Results.

completion of election

Note:

1.

Quorum shall be fulfilled as per Rule 4 of the Andhra Pradesh Conduct of Election of

Member (Co-opted), President and Vice-Presidents of Mandal Praja Parishads and

Members (Co-opted), Chairperson and Vice-Chairpersons of Zilla Praja Parishad

Rules, 2006.

If the list of validly nominated candidates is not published due to non-filing of

nominations or all the candidates have withdrawn their candidatures later on, the

Presiding Officer need not take up the further election process and the matter shall

be reported to the State Election Commission to fix another date for holding the

special meeting.

3.

In case the election is not held after publication of list of validly nominated

candidates on 27.03.2025, the Presiding Officer shall take up the election at 11:00

AM on the next day, i.e., 28.03.2025 whether or not it is a holiday observed by the

Mandal Praja Parishad, after fulfillment of quorum. However, no fresh nominations

shall be accepted on the second day, i.e., 28.03.2025.
