In exercise of the powers conferred by Sections 200 and 201 of the A.P. Panchayat

Raj Act, 1994 and the Andhra Pradesh Conduct of Election of Member (Co-opted),

President and Vice-Presidents of Mandal Praja Parishads and Members (Co-opted),

Chairperson and Vice-Chairpersons of Zilla Praja Parishad Rules, 2006 issued in

G.O.Ms.No. 173, P.R. & R.D. (Elections) Dept., dtd.10.05.2006, the State Election

Commissioner, hereby, directs the Collector & District Election Authority, YSR to conduct

the election to the casual vacancy of Chairperson, Zilla Praja Parishad, YSR in

accordance with the procedure laid down in the said Rules and specifies the Election

Schedule for the election to the said office in the Annexure appended to this Notification.

(Notification No. 35/SEC-B1/2025-1, Date: 18.03.2025)

ELECTION SCHEDULE

1. Notice to be given in Form-IX by the District Collector,

YSR, calling for Special Meeting for conduct of election of

the Chairperson, Zilla Praja Parishad, YSR.

(Notice should be given to all the Members of the Zilla

Praja Parishad specified in clauses (i) to (v) of Section 177

(3) of A.P. Panchayat Raj Act, 1994)

On or before

23.03.2025

2. Date and time for Special Meeting for the election of

Chairperson, Zilla Praja Parishad, YSR.

At 11.00 AM on

27.03.2025

Note:-

1. Quorum for the election shall be fulfilled as stipulated under Rule 20 the Andhra

Pradesh Conduct of Election of Member (Co-opted), President and Vice-

Presidents of Mandal Praja Parishads and Members (Co-opted), Chairperson and

Vice-Chairpersons of Zilla Praja Parishad Rules, 2006.

2. If for any reason, the election is not held on 27.03.2025, it shall be held at the

same time on the next day, i.e., on 28.03.2025 at 11.00 AM whether or not it is

a holiday observed by the Zilla Praja Parishad. If the election could not be held

on 28.03.2025 also, the matter shall be reported to the State Election

Commission to fix another date for holding election as per Rule 19 (3) of the

said Rules.
