In exercise of the powers conferred by Article 243K of the Constitution of India, Sections 200

and 201 of the A.P. Panchayat Raj Act, 1994 read with Andhra Pradesh Conduct of Election of

Member (Co-opted), President and Vice-Presidents of Mandal Praja Parishads and Members (Co-

opted), Chairperson and Vice-Chairpersons of Zilla Praja Parishad Rules, 2006 issued in

G.O.Ms.No.173, P.R. & R.D. (Elections) Dept., dated 10.05.2006, the State Election Commissioner,

hereby, directs any Gazetted Officer of the Government authorized by the Collectors & District

Election Authorities concerned to conduct the election to the casual vacancies of Members (Co-

opted) of Mandal Praja Parishads shown below in accordance with the procedure laid down in the

said Rules and specifies the election schedule in the Annexure appended to this Notification.

ELECTION SCHEDULE

Notice to be given in Form-II of the Andhra Pradesh Conduct of

Election of Member (Co-opted), President and Vice-Presidents of

Mandal Praja Parishads and Members (Co-opted), Chairperson and

Vice-Chairpersons of Zilla Praja Parishad Rules, 2006 (with slight

modification, i.e., deletion of Point No. (3) which relates to the

election of President/Vice-President of MPP), by the Gazetted Officers

authorized by the concerned District Collectors calling for Special

Meeting for conduct of elections of Member (Co-opted) of concerned

Mandal Praja Parishads.

(Notice shall be given to all the Members of Mandal Praja Parishad

specified in clauses (i) to (iv) of Sec.149 (1) of A.P. Panchayat Raj

Act, 1994)

(a) Receipt of Nominations.

Before 10.00 AM on

(b) Scrutiny of Nominations.

After 10.00 AM, but

(c) Publication of list of validly nominated candidates.

(d) Time for withdrawal of candidature.

(e) Meeting for administration of oath and conduct of elections to

Member (Co-opted) of concerned MPPs.

(Members, if any, who have not taken oath in previous meetings,

shall be administered oath duly complying with the relevant rules)

Note:

1.

Quorum shall be fulfilled as per Rule 4 of the Andhra Pradesh Conduct of Election of

Member (Co-opted), President and Vice-Presidents of Mandal Praja Parishads and

Members (Co-opted), Chairperson and Vice-Chairpersons of Zilla Praja Parishad Rules,

2006.

If for any reason, the election of Member (Co-opted) is not held on the date fixed

aforesaid, the matter shall be reported to the State Election Commission to fix another

date for holding election.
