ADDITIONAL ELECTION NOTIFICATION

The 8th April, 2026

ELECTION OF MEMBERS TO THE BAR COUNCIL OF ASSAM, NAGALAND, MIZORAM,

ARUNACHAL PRADESH AND SIKKIM

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN THAT -

No. BC/221/26.— As the council has published the Election Notification dated 19th February, 2026

before publication of the Provisional Electoral Rolls as per schedule fixed by the Hon’ble Supreme Court of

India and subsequently Final Electoral Rolls and Supplementary Electoral Rolls have also been published

later on, numbers of voters in some places have increased or decreased. As a result, the requisite numbers of

voters for voting by personal ballot in a place have changed in some places and as such some changes have

been made in place as notified in earlier Election Notification dated 19th February, 2026 in which voting by

personal ballot will be held.

In view of the above, the point No. 13 of earlier Election Notification dated 19th February, 2026, by which

places where voting by personal ballot will be held was notified, has been revised as under.

“13. In the event of the election being contested, the poll will take place on 22nd April, 2026 between the

hours from 10:00 A.M. to 4.30 P.M. and voting by personal ballot will be held at Guwahati, Amingaon, Abhayapuri,

Barpeta, Bajali, Baksa, Bijni,Bilasipara, Biswanath Chariali, Bongaigaon, Chirang, Dhemaji, Dhubri, Dibrugarh,

Diphu, Dimapur, Dhakuakhana, Goalpara, Golaghat, Gohpur, Gossaigaon, Gangtok, Hailakandi, Hojai,

Hatsingimari, Itanagar, Jorhat, Jonai, Kaliabor, Kokrajhar, Kohima, Mangaldai, Margherita, Morigaon, Mizoram,

Mokokchung, Nagaon, Naharkatia, Nalbari, North Lakhimpur, Rangia, Sivasagar, Silchar, Sonari (Charaideo),

Sribhumi, Tezpur, Tinsukia, Udalguri. At Guwahati, the election will be held at the premises of the High Court

Bar Association and in rest of centers polling will be held at the respective Bar Association premises and

where there are more that one Bar Associations, the booth will be in the oldest Bar Association premises. The

Voters of the rest of the places of Assam, Nagaland, Mizoram, Arunachal Pradesh and Sikkim will vote by

Postal Ballot”.

Further, the other points, i.e. 1 to 12, 14 and 15 of the Election Notification dated 19th February, 2026 will

remain same as notified earlier.
