NOTIFICATION

No. E-371408/2023/29.- In exercise of powers under clause(a) of Section 9 (1) read

with Section 9 (2) of the Indian Stamp Act, 1899, Governor of Assam is pleased to exempt levy

of stamp duty only in respect of conveyance deeds to be executed by or on behalf of or in favour

of Governor of Assam conveyancing lands acquired through direct purchase by way of negotiated

settlement for public purpose under the policy notified vide Government Notification vide

RLA.177/2021/3 dated 7th March, 2022.

No. E-371408/2023/29-A.- In exercise of powers under section 78 (A) of the Registration

Act, 1908, Governor of Assam is pleased to exempt levy of the registration fee only in respect

of conveyance deeds to be executed by or on behalf of or in favour of Governor of Assam for

lands acquired through direct purchase by way of negotiated settlement for public purposes under

the policy notified vide Government Notification No. RLA.177/2021/3 dated 7th March, 2022

read with the amendments notified vide the Government Notification No. RLA 231013/37, dated

23rd August, 2023.

No. E-371408/2023/29-B.- Governor of Assam is further pleased to order that in view

of exemption of stamp duty and registration fee as notified vide No. E-371408/2023/29 and

No. E-371408/2023/29-A, the relevant conveyance instruments will be prepared on a special

e-stamp paper of value of Rs 100 to be marked as ‘only for conveyance deeds of lands

acquired through direct purchase by way of negotiated settlement’ to be facilitated by Stock

Holding Corporation of India Limited for this purpose. The cost of such special e-stamp paper

shall be borne out of the administrative cost.

Above notifications will come into force with effect from the date of publication in the

official gazette.
