No. ECF. 712001/35.- Whereas, the Election Commission of India has announced

the schedule for Bye-Election to 09-Nagaon HPC, 2026 vide its Press Note No. No.ECI/PN/

114/2026, dated 07th September, 2026.

And, as per the provisions of Section 20A and 28A of the Representation of the People

Act, 1951, the Governor of Assam is pleased to order that all the District Election Officers,

Returning Officers, Assistant Returning Officers, Presiding Officers, Polling Officers and

other Officers appointed under Part-IV of the Representation of the People Act, 1951, and any

other officers designated for the time being by the Government of Assam for the conduct of

Bye Election to 09-Nagaon HPC, 2026, shall be deemed to be on deputation to the Election

Commission of India for the period commencing from 8th September, 2026 and ending with

the date of declaration of the results of the election.
