construction of building would be required under the areas of Gaon Panchayat, Anchalik Panchayat and Zilla

Parishad as per power envisaged to the State Government under Section 25(6) of the Assam Panchayat

Act, 1994. This is in pursuance of the approval of Hon 'ble Cabinet in its meeting held on 7th March, 2022.

The Building permission would only be required, where the area falls under any Development Authority.

In such cases, Department of Housing and Urban Affairs will provide Technical Support to Gaon Panchayat,

Anchalik Panchayat and Zilla Parishad Authorities and fees collected would be shared on 50:50 basis between

both the Authorities. Application for permission for construction of building in such areas under any

Development Authority, but fully under Gaon Panchayat, may be filed in the concerned Gaon Panchayat

Office which will then be forwarded to the concerned Development Authority for issuing necessary permission

after due verification and realization of required fees.

This will come into effect from the date of issuance of this Notification.
