MINISTRY OF ROAD TRANSPORT AND HIGHWAYS

NOTIFICATION

New Delhi, the 15th February, 2001

s.o. i42(E).— Whereas it appears to Central Government, for public purpose to acquire land

brief description of which has been given in the Schedule annexed here to , for building(four

laning) of National Highway No.4 between km 282.0 to km 592.0 i.e between Haveri and

Maharashtra Border in the District of Belgaum in the State of Karnataka;

Now, therefore, in exercise of the powers conferred by sub-section (1) of section 3A of

National Highways Act, 1956 (48 of 1956), the Central Government hereby gives notice of its

intention to acquire such land as per Schedule annexed hereto, for the aforsaid purpose;

Any person interested in the said land may, within twenty one days from the date of

publication of this notification, raise objection on the use of the land for the aforesaid purpose,

under sub-section (1) of section 3C of the said Act. Every such objection shall be made to the

competent authority in writing and shall set out the grounds thereof and the competent

authority shall give the objector an opportunity of being heard, either in person or by a legal

practitioner and may, after, hearing of such objections and after making such further inquiry, if

any, 4$ the competent authority thinks necessary, by order either allow or disallowe the

objections.

Any order made by the competent authority under sub-section (2) of the section 3C (1)

of the said Act, shall be final.

The plan bearing no. NH-4/LA/BELGAUM/01 to 33, dated the 17th October, 2000 and

the area covered by this notification are available for interested persons in the office of the

competent authority, Manager, Project Implementation Unit, National Highways Authority of

India, DC.Compound, (Office of Superintending Engineer, Public Works Department Circle),

Dharwad - 580 001, Karnataka.
