New Delhi, the 1st March, 2001

S. O. 190 (E).—in pursuance of rule 6 of the Post Office Savings Account Rules,

1981, the Central Government hereby makes the following amendment In the

notification of the Government of India in the Ministry of Finance (Department of

Economic Affairs) number S.O.1(E), dated the 1^st January, 1999, namely:-

In the said notification, in the opening portion, for the words, figures and

letters "with effect from 1^st January, 1999", the words, figures and letters "with

effect from 1^st January, 1999 but before 1^st March, 2001" shall be substituted.

NOTIFICATION

New Delhi, the 1st Mffrch, 2001

s. o. i9i (E).~ In pursuance of rule 6 of the Post Office Savings Account Rules,

1981, the Central Government hereby notifies that, with effect from the 1^st day

of March, 2001, interest on the balance at credit of an account specified in

column (1) of the Table below shall be allowed at the rate specified in the

corresponding entry in column (2) of the said Table.

NOTIFICATION

New Delhi, the 1st March, 2001

s. o. 192 (E).—in pursuance of section 5 of the Public Provident Fund Act, 1968

(23 of 1968), the Central Government hereby notifies

the rate of interest

applicable on the subscriptions made to the fund on or after the 1^st day of March,

2001 and for that purpose makes the following amendments in the notification of

the Government of India in the Ministry of Finance (Department of Economic

Affairs) number S.O. 48(E), dated the 15^th January, 2000, namely: -

In the said notification,-

(a)in the opening portion, for the words, figures and letters "the

subscriptions made to the fund on or after the 15^th day of January,

2000", the words,figures and letters "the subscriptions made to the Fund

on or after the 15^th day of January, 2000 but before the 1^st day of March,

2001" shall be substituted;

(b) after the proviso, the following proviso shall be Inserted, namely:-

"Provided further that the subscriptions made to the fund on or

after the 1^st day of Me^ch, 2001 and balances at the credit of the

subscriber shall bear interest at the rate of nine-and-a-half per cent,

per annum.".
