NOTIFICATION

New Delhi, the 12th March, 2001

S. 0.217(E).—Whereas by the notification of the Government of India, in the Ministry of

Railways number S.O. 527 (E), dated the 30^th May, 2000, issued under sub-section (1) of

section 7 of the Metro Railways (Construction of Works) Act, 1978 (33 of 1978), published

in Part H, Section 3, Sub-section (ii) of the Gazette of India, Extraordinary dated the 30^th

May, 2000, the Central Government gave notice of its intention to acquire lands, buildings,

streets, roads, passages or nallah as mentioned in the Schedule appended to the said

notification, for public purpose;

And whereas the Central Government, on the report of the Competent Authority, is

satisfied that the lands, buildings, streets, roads, passages or nallah, as mentioned in the

Schedule appended to the said notification are required for a public purpose for construction

of Metro Railway and other works connected therewith in the city of Calcutta from

Tollyganj to Pranabnagar at the public expense;

Now, therefore, in exercise of the powers conferred by sub-section (1) of section 10

of the said Act, the Central Government hereby acquires the lands, buildings, streets, roads,

passages or nallah as mentioned in the Schedule appended to this notification.

The plan of the area, mentioned in the Schedule, may be inspected in the office of

Competent Authority, Metro Railway, 39/1, Rash Behari Avenue (l^ffl Floor), Calcutta-
