NOTIFICATION

New Delhi, the 24th November, 2001

S.0.1166(E).—in exercise of powers conferred by sub-section (1) of section 3A of the National

Highways Act, 1956 (48 of 1956), (hereinafter referred to as the said Act), the Central

Government, being satisfied that the land, brief description of which has been mentioned in the

Schedule annexed hereto, is required for the public of purpose of building, maintenance,

management or operation in respect of the land of stretch from km, 292.4 to 306.4 km. on the

National Highway No.7 at Karur Bypass in the State of Tamil Nadu, hereby declares its intention

to acquire such land;

Any person interested in the land may, within twenty one days from the date of

publication of this notification, file objection, if any, on the use of the land for the aforesaid

purpose under sub-section (1) of section 3C of the said Act;

Every such objection shall be made to the competent authority in writing, and shall set

out the grounds thereof, and the competent authority shall give the objector an opportunity of

being heard, either in person or by a legal practioner, and may, after hearing of such objections

and after making such further inquiry, if any, as the competent authority thinks necessary, by

order, either allow or disallow the objection;

Any order made by the competent authority under sub-section (2) of section 3C of the

said Act shall be final;

The land plans and other details of lands to be acquired are available for inspection by the

interested persons in the office of Competent Authority, Special Deputy Collector (Public

Grievance Redressal Cell), Karur, Tamil Nadu.

SCHEDULE

Land acquisition on National Highway No. 7 at Karur Bypass from km. 294.65 to km.

295.00 and km. 297.90 to km. 301.10 in the State of Tamil Nadu in District Karur.
