ORDER

New Delhi, the 24th December, 2001

S.O. 1257(E).— In exercise of the powers conferred

by clause (a) of sub-section (1) of section 16 of the Mines

and Minerals (Development and Regulation) Act, 1957 (67

of 1957) and in supersession of the Order of the Government

of India, in the Ministry of Mines, published in the Gazette

of India (Extraordinary) Part II, Section 3, Sub-section (ii),

dated the 13th December, 2000, vide S.O. 1116(E), dated the

13th December, 2000, except as respects things done or

omitted to be done before such supersession, the Central

Government hereby specifies the further time till 31st

December, 2002 within which all mining leases, granted before

the commencement of the Mines and Minerals (Regulation

and Development) Amendment Act, 1972 [if in force at the

date of commencement of the Mines and Minerals

(Regulation and Development) Amendment Act, 1994], shall

be brought in conformity with the provisions of this Act and

the rules made thereunder.
