MINISTRY OF ROAD TRANSPORT AND HIGHWAYS

NOTIFICATION

New Delhi, the 27th February. 2002

s.o.248(E).—Whereas in exercise, of the powers conferred

by the sub-section (1) of section 3A of the National Highway

Act,1956 (48 of 1956), the Central Government vide notification of

the Government of India in the Ministry of Road Transport and

Highways, S.O. No.723(E),dated the 27^th July, 2001, and S.O. No.

978(E), dated the 29^th September, 2001, declared its intention to

acquire the lands specified in the Schedule appended to that

Notification for the public purpose of four-laning of National

Highway No. 5 from'Km. 29/000 to Km. 60/400 (Vishakapatnam -

Bhubaneswar sectron) in District Vizianagarm, in the State of

Andhra Pradesh;

And whereas, the competent authority in pursuance of sub-

section (1) of section 3D of the said Act, has submitted its report

to the Central Government;

Now, therefore, in exercise of the powers conferred by sub-

section (1), read with sub-section (2), of section 3D of the said

Act, the Central Government hereby declared that the lands

specified in the Schedule annexed hereto are acquired for the

aforesaid purpose, and that the said lands shall vest absolutely

with the Central Government free from all encumbrances.
