NOTIFICATION

New Delhi, the 6(h March, 2002

Subject: Yarn, Fabrics and Made-ups Export Eutitlemeat (Quota) Policy (2000—2004), in respect of countries where

such exports are covered by restraints under the provision of the Agreement on Textiles and Clothing.

No. i/15/2001-Exports-L— l. Attention is invited to Notification No. 1/129/99

Exports-I dated 12^th November, 1999, which was amended subsequently by

Notifications No.l3/33/2000-Exports-I dated 8^th January, 2001, and Notification

No.l/161/2000-Exports-I dated 30^th April, 2001 on the above mentioned subject.

In exercise of the powers conferred by Para 20 of the Policy, the

Government of India hereby grants relaxation from the operation of Para 1 l(ii) to

(iv) of the Policy for exports against entitlements of the year 2001, in the

following manner;-

"(ii) The EMD/BG/LUT/Post

Dated

Cheque of an exporter who

exports 75% or more of the entitlement would be released in full.

However, in the case of slow moving items, this percentage will be 50%

or more.

(iii) The 'Quota Administering Authority' shall forfeit the EMD/BG, in

case utilisation is 50% or more but less than 75% in case of fast moving

items and 40% or more but less than 50% in case of slow moving items,

proportionate to the shortfall in utilisation.

(iv) If utilisation is less than the above, i.e. 50% in case of fast moving

items and 40% in case of slow moving items, the EMD/BG/LUT/Post

Dated Cheque shall be forfeited in full."

All other terms and conditions of the Notification mentioned in Para 1

above will remain unchanged.
