NOTIFICATION

New Delhi, the 14th March, 2002

G.S. R 207(E).—In exercise of the powers conferred by

section 83 of the Standards of Weights and Measures Act,

1976 (60 of 1976), the Central Government hereby makes the

following rales further to amend the Indian Institute of Legal

Metrology Rules, 1980, namely .—

1.(1) These rules may be called the Indian Institute of

Legal Metrology (Amendment) Rules, 2002.

(2) They shall come into force on the date of their

publication in the official Gazette.

2. In the Indian Institute of Legal Metrology Rules 1980

in rule 8,—

(i) for sub-rule (2), the following sub-rule shall be

substituted, namely :—

"(2) The Central Government may constitute an advisory

committee which shall consist of not less than 13 and not

more than 15 members having experience in metrology, law

or public administration."

(ii) sub-rules (3) and (4) shall be omitted.
