(APPELLATE TRIBUNAL FOR FOREIGN EXCHANGE)

NOTIFICATION

New Delhi, the 30th April. 2002

S.O. 472(E).—In exercise of the powers conferred

by clause (b) of sub-section (2) of section 20, read with

section 29, of the Foreign Exchange Management Act, 1999

(42 of 1999), the Chairperson hereby makes the following

amendment in the notification of the Government of India

in the Ministry of Law, Justice and Company Affairs

(Department of Legal Affairs), number S.O. 320(E), dated

the 4th April, 2001, namely :—

In the said notification, for paragraph 2, the follow-

ing shall be substituted, namely:—

"2, The Division Bench referred to in clause (b)

above shall hear only such cases which in

opinion of the Chairperson or Member involves

substantial question of law or mixed question of

law and fact which ought to be decided by

Division Bench. The Chairperson or Member

hearing any case irrespective of valuation of the

appeal may refer the case for hearing by a

Division Bench".
