NOTIFICATION

New Delhi, the 24th April 2002

G.S.R. 312(E).—In exercise of the powers con-

ferred by section 3 of the Foreigners Acts, 1946 (XXXI of

1946). the Central Government hereby makes the following

Order further to amend the Foreigners Order, 1948,

namely:—

1. (1) This Order may be called the Foreigners

(Amendment) Order, 2002.

(2) It shall come into force at once.

2. In the Foreigners Order, 1948. in sub-paragraph

(3) of paragraph 7, for the existing clause (ii), the following

clause shall be substituted, namely •—

"(ii) shall, if the permit indicates the place or

places for slay in India, report in person or in writing

his arrival at, and departure from, any such place to

the Registration Officer having jurisdiction at such

place, within twenty-four hours after his arrival or, as

the case may be before his intended departure; and"
