NOTIFICATION

New Delhi, the 9th July, 2002

s.o.7i5(E).— whereas by the notification of the Government of

India in the Ministry of Road Transport and Highway, number

S.O.180(E),dated the 8^th February, 2002, number S.O. 181(E),

dated 8^th February, 2002, and number S.O. 487(E), dated 3^rd May,

2002, issued under sub-section (1) of section 3A of the National

Highway Act,1956 (48 of 1956), (hereinafter referred to as the

said Act), the Central Government declared its intention to

acquire the lands specified in the Schedule appended to that

notification for the public purpose of four-laning of National

Highway No.5 from Km. 11/0 to Km. 52/8 (Madras-Vijayawada

section) in the District of Thiruvallur, in the State of Tamil Nadu;

And whereas, in pursuance of sub-section (1) of section 3D

of the said Act, the competent authority has submitted its report

to the Central Government;

Now, therefore, upon receipt of the said report, and in

exercise of the powers conferred by sub-section (1) of section 3D

of the said Act, the Central Government hereby declares that the

lands specified in the Schedule annexed hereto are to be acquired

for the aforesaid purpose;

And further, in pursuance of sub-section (2) of section 3D of

the said Act, the Central Government hereby declares that on the

publication of this notification in the Official Gazette the lands

specified in the Schedule annexed hereto shall vest absolutely

with the Central Government free from all encumbrances.
