NOTIFICATION

New Delhi, the 16th July, 2002

S.O. 751 (E).—In exercise of the powers conferred

by Sub-suction (I) of Section 5 read with Sub-section 1 of

Section 6 of the University Grants Commission Act, 1956

(3 of 1956) and rules 6 and 7 of the University Grants

Commission (Disqualification, retirement and Conditions

of Service of Members) Rules, 1992, the Central

Government hereby appoints Prof. Arun Nigavekar, as

Chairman, University Grants Commission in the Scale of

pay of Rs. 26,000 (fixed) (Plus usual allowances) with im-

mediate effect, till 27-9-2005 or until he attains the age of

65 years, whichever is earlier.
