NOTIFICATION
New Delhi, lhe4th September, 2002
S.O. 937 (E).—In exercise of the powers conferred
by Section 5 of the Seeds Act, 1966 (54 of 1966), the Central
Government, after consultation with the Central Seed
Committee, being of the opinion that it is necessary and
expedient to regulate the quality of the seeds of the
varieties specified in column (2) of theTablc below of the
kinds specified in corresponding entries in column (3) of
the said Table, to be sold for the purpose of agriculture,

hereby declares that the said varieties of seeds shall be the
notified varieties fnr itu- whole of inrii.i tnrthc purpose of
the said Act, for a period of fifteen years from the date of
publication uf tins notification, or as the Central
Government may otherwise notify, namely.—

S.O.93N (E),—In exercise of the powers conferred
by clause (a) and (b) of Section 6 of the Seeds Act, 1966 (54
of 1966) the Central Government, after consultation with
the Central Seed Committee, hereby specifies the minimum
limns of germination, physical purity and genetic purity
mentioned in columns (2), (3) and (4) respectively of the
Table below, as the minimum limits of germination and purity
with respect of the seed of the notified kind or variety
mentioned in the corresponding entry in column (1),

NOTIFICATION

S.O. 939(E).—In exercise of the powers conferred
by clause (b) of Section 6 of the Seeds Act, 1%6 (54 of
1966), the Central Government, after conciliation with the
Central Seed Committee, hereby amends the notification of
the Government of India in the Ministry of Agriculture,
Department of Agriculture and Co-operation No S.O. 767(E)
dated 6th November, 1991, namely —•
In the said notification, in sub-paragraph (2) of
paragraph 1, after item (x) and entry relating thereto, the
following item and entries shall be inserted namely :—
"(xa) Adaptability of the variety—Arca(s)"
Note :—The principal notification was published in the
Gazcltc of India vide number S.O 767(R) dated
6th November, 1991 arid subsequently amended
vide S.O. No. 519(E) dated 10-7-1992.
2. This notification shall come into force on the date
of its publication in the Official Gazelle.
