New Delhi, the 12th September, 2002

G.S.R. 644(E).—In exercise of powers conferred by

Section 3 of the Essential Commodities Act, 1955 (10 of

1955) read with clause 3 (F) of the Motor Spirit and High

Speed Diesel (Regulation of Supply and Distribution

an<jl Prevention of Malpractices) Order, 1998, the Central

Government hereby directs that in the following States

and Union Territories only 5 % ethanol blended petrol, as

per Bureau of Indian Standards specification No. 2796

shall be sold from the first January 2003, namely:—
