NOTIFICATION

New Delhi, the 24th November, 2009

S.O. 2994(E).—In exercise of the powers conferred by clause (a) of Section 3 of the National Highways Act, 1956

(48 of 1956), the Central Government hereby authorises the District Revenue Officer, Madurai as the competent authority to

perform the functions of such authority under the said Act with effect from the date of publication of this notification in the

Official Gazette, in respect of the stretch of land section of Madurai-Ramanathapuram-Rameshwaram-Dhanushkodi of

National Highway No. 49 (km. 5/000 to km. 10/400) for building (widening/four-laning, etc.), maintenance, management and

operation of the National Highway No. 49 including the by-passes, in the State of Tamil Nadu.
