NOTIFICATION

New Delhi, the 30th December, 2009

S.O. 3315(E).— Whereas the Indian Boilers Act,

1923 (5 of 1923) has been further amended in 2007 as the

Indian Boilers (Amendment) Act, 2007 (49 of 2007)

(hereinafter referred to as the said Act) and received the

assent of the President on the 12th December, 2007;

And whereas, sub-section (2) of Section 1 of said

Act provides that the provisions of the Act shall come

into force on such date as the Central Government may,

by notification in Official Gazette, appoint; and different

dates may be appointed for different provisions of the

said Act;

And whereas, in exercise of the powers conferred

by sub-section (2) of Section 1 of the said Act, the Central

Government had appointed the 27th day of May, 2008 as

the date on which certain provisions of the said Act shall

come into force and for this purpose the Central

Government had issued a Gazette notification vide number

S.O. 1226 (E), dated the 27th day of May, 2008;

And whereas, the Central Boilers Board has decided

to recommend to the Central Government that sub-section

(2) of Section 3 of the said Act which has been brought

into force with effect from the 27th day of May, 2008 by

the Central Government may be denotified for a period up

to the 31st day of July, 2010 ;

Now, therefore, in exercise of the powers conferred

by sub-section (2) of Section 1 of the said Act and in

supersession of notification No. S. 0. 1226 (E), dated

27th May, 2008 in so far as it relates to sub-section (2) of

Section 3, execpt as respects things done or omitted to be

done before such suppression, the Central Government

hereby appoints the 1st day of August, 2010 as the date

on which sub-section (2) of Section 3 of the said Act shall

come into force.
