NOTIFICATION

New Delhi, the 18th January, 2013

S.O. 198(E).—In exercise of the powers conferred

by sub-section (1) of Section 5 read with sub-section (1)

of Section 6 of the University Grants Commission Act,

1956 (3of 1956), the Central Government hereby appoints

Prof. Ved Prakash, Vice-Chairman, University Grants

Commission as Chairman, University Grants Commission

in the scale of pay of Rs. 80,000 (fixed) (plus usual

allowances) with effect from 18th January, 2013, for a

period of four years four months (ending on 7th May,

2017), or until he attains the age of 65 years, whichever is

earlier.
