NOTIFICATION

New Delhi, the 16th December, 2014

S.O. 3196(E).—In pursuance of sub-rule (1) of rule 4A of the Forest (Conservation) Rules, 2003 (hereinafter

referred to as the said rules), the Central Government hereby constitutes the Regional Empowered Committee at Regional

Office, North Central Zone, Dehradun (hereinafter referred to as the Regional Empowered Committee) to exercise the

powers and perform the functions specified therein, comprising of the following Members, namely:—

(i)

Head of the Regional Office, North Central Zone, Dehradun

Chairperson

(ii)

Senior most officer from amongst officers in the rank of Chief Conservator

of Forests or Conservator of Forests in the Regional Office, North Central

Zone, Dehradun

2. Following representatives of the Government of Uttarakhand and the Government of Himachal Pradesh shall be invited

to attend meetings of the Regional Empowered Committee as special invitee, in the examination of the proposals

pertaining to diversion of forest land in Uttarakhand and Himachal Pradesh respectively, namely:-

(A) Government of Uttarakhand:

(i)

Additional Principal Chief Conservator of Forests and the Nodal Officer, the Forest

(Conservation) Act, 1980, Government of Uttarakhand;

(ii)

Additional Secretary to the Government of Uttarakhand, Revenue Department.

(B) Government of Himachal Pradesh:

(i)

Special Secretary to the Government of Himachal Pradesh, Revenue Department, Civil

Secretariat, Shimla;

(ii)

Conservator of Forests (FCA), Forest Department, Government of Himachal Pradesh, Shimla.

3. The terms of appointment of non-official members shall be as specified in rule 4 of the said rules.
