New Delhi, the 16th December, 2014

S.O. 3193(E).—In pursuance of sub-rule (1) of rule 4A of the Forest (Conservation) Rules, 2003 (hereinafter

referred to as the said rules), the Central Government hereby constitutes the Regional Empowered Committee at Regional

Office, West Central Zone, Nagpur (hereinafter referred to as the Regional Empowered Committee) to exercise the

powers and perform the functions specified therein, comprising of the following Members, namely: —

(i)

Head of the Regional Office, West Central Zone, Nagpur

— Chairperson

(ii)

Senior most officer from amongst officers in the rank of Chief Conservator

of Forests or Conservator of Forests in the Regional Office, West Central

Zone, Nagpur

& Member

(iii)

2. Following representatives of the Government of Maharashtra and the Government of Chhattisgarh shall be invited to

attend meetings of the Regional Empowered Committee as special invitee, in the examination of the proposals pertaining

to diversion of forest land in the States of Maharashtra and Chhattisgarh respectively, namely:—

3. The terms of appointment of non-official members shall be as specified in rule 4 of the said rules.
