ORDER

New Delhi, the 13th January, 2015

S.O. 151(E).—Whereas the Joint Secretary to the Government of India, specially empowered under sub-section

(1) of Section 3 of the Conservation of Foreign Exchange and Prevention of Smuggling Activities Act, 1974 (52 of 1974)

issued order F. No. 673/20/2014-Cus.VIII, dated 20.11.2014 under the said sub-section directing that Shri Ahmed Hamid

Sayyed [@ Ahmed H. Sayyed @ Ahmed Mia @ Miabhai], 401, Heera Apartment, Pancharatna SOC Queens Park, Mira

Bhayandar Road, Tata Docomo Gallery, Mira Road East, Thane, Maharashtra -401107, be detained and kept in custody in

the Central Jail, Nashik with a view to preventing him from smuggling goods and in transportation & concealment of the

smuggled goods in future.

2. Whereas the Central Government has reasons to believe that the aforesaid person has absconded or has been

concealing himself so that the order cannot be executed.

3. Now, therefore, in exercise of the powers conferred by Clause (b) of sub- section (1) of Section 7 of the said Act,

the Central Government hereby directs the aforesaid person to appear before the Director General of Police (DGP), Government

of Maharashtra, Mumbai within 7 days of the publication of this order.
