New Delhi, the 28th January, 2015

G.S.R. 63(E).–In exercise of the powers conferred by section 25 of the Seeds Act, 1966 (54 of 1966), the Central

Government hereby makes the following rules further to amend the Seed Rules, 1968, namely:-

1. (1) These rules may be called the Seeds (Amendment) Rules, 2014.

(2) It shall come into force on the date of its publication in the Official Gazette.

2. In the Seed Rules, 1968, for “Form I to VIII” the following forms shall be substituted, namely:-

“FORM I

(Application for grant of certificate by seed certification agency)

1. (a) Name

(b) Address

(d) E-mail ID

2. Exact location of farm

3. Names of crops and varieties of seed offered

for certification.

4. Area under each crop and variety

offered for certification.

5. Class of seed desired to be produced

Foundation/Certified.

6. Source of seed for item 5 above

(also mention Tag number and other

particulars on the tag).

7. “Isolation distance” (in meters) from

other varieties of the same crop.

North to South : East to West.

8. Actual or proposed date of planting.
