अिधसूचना सं. का.आ. 181 (अ) तारीख 12 जनवरी, 2009 म िन. निलिखत और संशोधन करती है; अथात् :—

उक् त अिधसूचना म —

(i) पैरा 1 म उप पैरा (1) के 9 थान पर िन. निलिखत रखा जाएगा, अथात्:—

(i) ए>कक एयर कंिडशनर के िलए आईएस 1391 (भाग 1) 1992 के ''अिधकतम चालनि9थितयां

पTरण'' शीषक के अंतगत खंड 10.4 म तथा ि9Hलट एयर कंिडशनर के िलए आईएस 1391

(भाग 2) : 1992 के ''अिधकतम चालन ि9थितयां पTरण क जांच'' शीषक के अंतगत खंड 9.4

म सभी संशोधन के साथ िनिहत अनुपालन अपेाY को पूरा करेगा।

(ii) या तो भारतीय मानक # यूरो का माणन िचZन अं>कत होगा अथवा िविनमाता को

आईएस/आईएसओ 9000 अथवा उपरो[ त के अनुसार मािणत होना चािहए;

(ii)

पैरा 2 म, उप पैरा (1) और उप पैरा (2) के 9 थान पर िन. निलिखत रखा जाएगा, अथात्:—

खंड 3, उपखंड (ii) म कािशत क गयी थी और संeयांक का.आ. 1970(अ) तारीख 2 जुलाई, 2013

ारा अंितम बार कािशत क गयी थी।

NOTIFICATION

New Delhi, the 29th December, 2015

S.O. 3543(E).—In exercise of the powers conferred by clause (a) of section 14 of the Energy

Conservation Act, 2001 (52 of 2001), the Central Government, in consultation with the Bureau of Energy

Efficiency, hereby makes the following further amendments in the notification of the Government of India in

the Ministry of Power number S.O.181 (E), dated the 12^th January, 2009, namely:—

In the said notification,—

(i)

in paragraph 1, for sub-paragraph(1), the following shall be substituted, namely:—

‘(1) The room air conditioners of the vapour compression type which are of window air

conditioner and 1:1 high wall split air conditioner, ceiling mounted split air conditioner, floor

standing split air conditioner up to a rated cooling capacity of 10,465 watts (9,000 kCal/hour)

being manufactured, commercially purchased or sold in India shall -

(i)

meet the compliance requirements contained in clause 10.4 under the heading

“Maximum Operating Conditions Test” of IS 1391(Part 1): 1992 for unitary air

conditioners and clause 9.4 under the heading “Maximum Operating Conditions

Test” of IS 1391(Part 2): 1992 for split air conditioners, with all amendments.

(ii)

either carry BIS certification mark or the manufacturer should be certified against

IS/ISO 9000 or above.’;

(ii) in paragraph 2, for sub-paragraph (1) and sub-paragraph (2), the following shall be substituted,

namely:—

“(1) The star rating or star level of the room air conditioner shall be determined by Energy

Efficiency Ratio (EER) which shall be obtained from Table 2.1 or Table 2.2 or Table 2.3 or

Table 2.4 or Table 2.5 or Table 2.6 depending on the year of manufacturing or commercial

purchase or sale.

(2) The star level chosen for the models will be based on minimum and maximum limits of energy

efficiency ratios of each star level band specified in tables above and the permission for display of

particulars on the unitary air conditioners for 1 star (EER 2.50 – 2.69) specified in table 2.5 and 1:1

high wall split air conditioners for star 1 (EER 2.70-2.89) specified in Table 2.6 shall not be

permitted with effect from the 1^st January,2016 with a view to upgrading the minimum energy

performance level of such air conditioners.”.
