सा.का.िन.1161 (अ) .Ñके᭠ ᮤीय सरकार, जीवन बीमा िनगम, अिधिनयम, 1956 (1956 का 31) कᳱ धारा

48 ᳇ारा ᮧद᭜ त शि᭍ तयᲂ का ᮧयोग करते ᱟए, भारतीय जीवन बीमा िनगम (कमᭅचारीवृंद) िनयम, 1960 का और

संशोधन करने के िलए िन᭥ निलिखत िनयम बनाती है, अथाᭅत्:-

(1) इन िनयमᲂ का सिᭃ᭡ त नाम भारतीय जीवन बीमा िनगम( कमᭅचाᳯरवृंद) संशोधन िनयम, 2016 है ।

(2) ये उनके राजपᮢ मᱶ ᮧकाशन कᳱ तारीख को ᮧवृ᭜ त हᲂगे ।

2. भारतीय जीवन बीमा िनगम (कमᭅचारीवृंद) िनयम, 1960 के िनयम 24 के प᭫ चात् िन᭥ निलिखत िनयम

अंत:᭭ थािपत ᳰकया जाएगा, अथाᭅत :-

¶24क. कोई भी कमᭅचारी कायᭅ᭭ थल पर ᳰकसी मिहला के साथ लᱹिगक उ᭜ पीड़न के ᳰकसी कायᭅ का अनुᮕह नहᱭ

करेगा ।

᭭ प᭬ टीकरण- इस िनयम के ᮧयोजन के िलए "लᱹिगक उ᭜ पीड़न के अंतगᭅत िन᭥ निलिखत कोई एक या अिधक

अवांछनीय कायᭅ या ᭪ यवहार चाहे ᮧ᭜ यᭃ ᱨप से या िवविᭃत ᱨप से हᱹ, अथाᭅत्:-

(क) शारीᳯरक संपकᭅ और अᮕगमन; या

(ख) लᱹिगक अनुकूलता कᳱ मांग या अनुरोध करना; या

(ग) लᱹिगक अ᭜ यु᭍ त ᳯट᭡ पिणयां करना; या

NOTIFICATION

New Delhi, the 21^st December, 2016

G.S.R. 1161(E).— In exercise of the powers conferred by section 48 of the Life Insurance Corporation Act,

1956 (31 of 1956), the Central Government hereby makes the following rules further to amend the Life Insurance

Corporation of India (Staff) Rules, 1960, namely:—

(1) These rules may be called the Life Insurance Corporation of India (Staff) Amendment Rules, 2016.

(2) They shall come into force on the date of their publication in Official Gazette.

In the Life Insurance Corporation of India (Staff) Rules , 1960, after rule 24, the following rule shall be

inserted, namely:—

24A. No employee shall indulge in any act of sexual harassment of any woman at workplace.

Explanation: For the purpose of this rule “sexual harassment” shall include any one or more of the acts

or behaviour, whether directly or by implication, namely:-

(a) physical contact and advances; or

(b) a demand or request for sexual favours; or

(d) showing pornography; or

(e) any other unwelcome physical, verbal or non-verbal conduct of sexual nature”.

EXPLANATORY MEMORANDUM

In order to comply with Section 19(f) of the Sexual Harassment of Women at Workplace (Prevention

Prohibition & Redressal) Act, 2013 published on 22/04/2013 and the Sexual Harassment of Women at

Workplace (Prevention, Prohibition and Redressal) Rules, 2013 notified on 09/12/2013 it was

necessary to amend LIC of India (Staff) Rules, 1960 by inserting an enabling provision.
