सा.का.िन.1165(अ).—के᭠ ᮤीय सरकार, रेल अिधिनयम, 1989 (1989 का 24) कᳱ धारा 129 ᳇ारा

ᮧद᭜ त शिᲦयᲂ का ᮧयोग करते ᱟए रेल दुघᭅटना और अनपेिᭃत घटना (ᮧितकर) िनयम,1990 का और संशोधन

करने के िलए िन᭥ निलिखत िनयम बनाती है, अथाᭅत्:-

1. संिᭃ᭡ त नाम एवं ᮧारंभ :- (1) इन िनयमᲂ का संिᭃ᭡ त नाम, रेल दुघᭅटना और अनपेिᭃत घटना (ᮧितकर)

संशोधन िनयम, 2016 है।

(2) ये एक जनवरी, 2017 से ᮧवृ᭜ त हᲂगे।

2. रेल दुघᭅटना और अनपेिᭃत घटना (ᮧितकर) िनयम, 1990 मᱶ (िजसे इसमᱶ इसके प᭫ चात् उ᭍ त िनयम कहा गया

है), िनयम 3 मᱶ, -

(i) उपिनयम(2) मᱶ, ''चार लाख ᱧपये'', श᭣ दᲂ के ᭭ थान पर ''आठ लाख ᱧपये'' श᭣ द रखे जाएंगे।

(ii) उपिनयम(3) के दूसरे परंतुक मᱶ ''अ᭭ सी हजार ᱧपये'', श᭣ दᲂ के ᭭ थान पर ''एक लाख साठ हजार ᱧपये'' श᭣ द

रखे जाएंगे।

3. उ᭍ त िनयमᲂ के िनयम 4 मᱶ, ''चार लाख ᱧपये'', श᭣ दᲂ के ᭭ थान पर ''आठ लाख ᱧपये'' श᭣ द रखे जाएंगे।

4. उ᭍ त िनयमᲂ से उपाब᳍ अनुसूची के ᭭ थान पर िन᭥ निलिखत अनुसूची रखी जाएगी, अथाᭅत्:-

NOTIFICATION

New Delhi, the 22nd, December, 2016

G.S.R. 1165(E).—In exercise of the powers conferred by section 129 of the Railways Act, 1989 (24 of 1989),

the Central Government hereby makes the following rules further to amend the Railway Accidents and Untoward

Incidents (Compensation) Rules, 1990, namely :-

1. Short title and Commencement:- (1) These rules may be called the Railway Accidents and Untoward Incidents

(Compensation) Amendment Rules, 2016.

(2) They shall come into force on the 1st day of January, 2017.

2. In the Railway Accidents and Untoward Incidents (Compensation) Rules, 1990 (hereinafter referred to as the

said rules), in rule 3, -

(i)

in sub-rule (2), for the words “rupees four lakhs”, the words “rupees

eight lakhs” shall be subsitituted;

(ii)

in the second proviso to sub-rule (3) for the words “rupees eighty thousand”, the words “rupees one

lakh sixty thousand” shall be substituted”.

3. In the said rules, in rule 4, for the words “rupees four lakhs”, the words

“rupees eight lakhs” shall be substituted.

4. For the Schedule annexed to the said rules, the following Schedule shall be Substituted, namely:-
