MINISTRY OF COAL

NOTIFICATION

New Delhi, the 30th August, 2017

S.O. 2831(E).—Whereas by the notification of the Government of India in the Ministry of Coal

number S.O. 751, dated the 24^th March, 2017, issued under sub-section (1) of section 7 of the Coal Bearing

Areas (Acquisition and Development) Act, 1957 (20 of 1957) (hereinafter referred to as the said Act) and

published in the Gazette of India, Part II, Section 3, Sub-section (ii), dated the 25^th March, 2017, the Central

Government gave notice of its intention to acquire 467.458 hectares (approximately) or 1155.09 acres

(approximately) land as surface rights in or over such lands described in the Schedule appended to that

notification;

And whereas, the competent authority in pursuance of section 8 of the said Act has made his report to

the Central Government;

And whereas, the Central Government after considering the aforesaid report and after consulting the

Government of Madhya Pradesh, is satisfied that the lands measuring 467.458 hectares (approximately) or

1155.09 acres (approximately) as surface rights in or over such lands as described in the Schedule appended

hereto, should be acquired;

Now, therefore, in exercise of the powers conferred by sub-section (1) of section 9 of the said Act, the

Central Government hereby declares that the land measuring 467.458 hectares (approximately) or 1155.09

acres (approximately) as surface rights in or over such lands as described in the Schedule are hereby acquired.

The plan bearing number SECL/BSP/GM/PLG/LAND/516, dated the 19^th July, 2017 of the area

covered by this notification may be inspected at the office of the Collector, District Shahdol (Madhya

Pradesh) or at the office of the Coal Controller, 1, Council House Street, Kolkata – 700001 or at the office of

the South Eastern Coalfield Limited (Revenue Section), Seepat Road, Bilaspur-495006 (Chhattisgarh).
