का.अ. 2890(ऄ).—ऄंतरााजययक नदी िल जििाद ऄजधजनयम, 1956 (1956 का 33) (जिसे आसमें आसके
पश्चात ईि ऄजधजनयम कहा गया है) की धारा 4 द्वारा प्रदत्त िजियों का प्रयोग करते हुए, तत्कालीन िल संसाधन
मंत्रालय, भारत सरकार ऄजधसूचना संखयांक का0 अ0 451 (ऄ), तारीख 2 ऄप्रैल, 2004 द्वारा कृष्णा िल जििाद
ऄजधकरण (जिसे आसमें आसके पश्चात् ईि ऄजधकरण कहा गया है) का गठन ऄंतरााजययक कृष्णा नदी और ईसकी नदी घाटी
से संबंजधत िल जििादों के न्यायजनणायन के जलए दकया गया था;
और, ईि ऄजधकरण ने ईि ऄजधजनयम की धारा 5 की ईपधारा (2) के ऄधीन ऄपनी ररपोटा और जिजनश्चय
तारीख 30 ददसम्बर 2010 को प्रस्ट्तुत कर ददया है;
और, केन्रीय सरकार और पक्षकार रायय अन्र प्रदेि, कनााटक और महाराष्ट्र द्वारा ईनसे संबंजधत जनदेि ईि
ऄजधजनयम की धारा 5 की ईपधारा (3) के ऄधीन ईि ऄजधकरण को तारीख 29 माचा, 2011 को भेि ददए गए हैं;
और, ईि ऄजधजनयम की धारा 5 की ईपधारा (3) के ऄधीन ईि ऄजधकरण द्वारा ऄजतररि ररपोटा तारीख 29
माचा 2011 को या ईससे एक िर्ा पहले, केन्रीय सरकार को भेिना ऄपेजक्षत था;
और ईि ऄजधकरण के ऄनुरोध पर ईि ऄजधजनयम की धारा 5 की ईपधारा (3) के ऄधीन ऄजतररि ररपोटा प्रस्ट्तुत
करने की ऄिजध समय-समय पर ऄजधसूचना संखयांक का0 अ0 653 (ऄ),तारीख 29 माचा, 2012, का0 अ0 2339
(ऄ),तारीख 28 जसतंबर, 2012, का0 अ0 916 (ऄ), तारीख 2 ऄप्रैल,2013,का0 अ0 2939 (ऄ), तारीख 27 जसतंबर,
2013, का0 अ0 3515 (ऄ) तारीख 27 निंबर, 2013 द्वारा 31 िनिरी, 2014 तक बढ़ाइ गइ थी जिसे िल संसाधन

मंत्रालय के तारीख 5 फरिरी, 2014 के अदेि द्वारा 31 िुलाइ, 2014 तक बढाइ गयी थी, ऄजधसूचना संखया का0 अ0
1290 (ऄ), तारीख 15 मइ, 2014, का0 अ0 2462 (ऄ), तारीख 18 िुलाइ, 2016, का0 अ0 2459 (ऄ), तारीख 31
िुलाइ, 2017; का0 अ0 3950 (ऄ), तारीख 9 ऄगस्ट्त, 2018 और का0 अ0 3146 (ऄ), तारीख 29 ऄगस्ट्त, 2019
द्वारा, और बढ़ा दी गयी थी;
और, ईि ऄजधकरण ने ईि ऄजधजनयम की धारा 5 की ईपधारा (3) के ऄधीन केंरीय सरकार को ऄपनी ऄजतररि
ररपोटा 29 निम्बर, 2013 को ऄग्रेजर्त कर दी है;
और, ईि ऄजधजनयम की धारा 12 के ऄधीन ऄजधकरण द्वारा ररपोटा ऄग्रेजर्त दकये िाने के पश्चात् और केंरीय
सरकार का यह समाधान होने पर दक आस मामले में ऄजधकरण को कोइ ऄजतररि जनदेि भेिा िाना अिश्यक नहीं होगा,
केंरीय सरकार ऄजधकरण का यथािीघ्र जिघटन कर देगी;
और, अंर प्रदेि पुनगाठन ऄजधजनयम, 2014 (2014 का 6) की धारा 89 में यह ईपबंध दकया गया है दक कृष्णा
िल जििाद ऄजधकरण की ऄिजध ईि धारा के खंड (क) और खंड (ख) में जिजनर्ददष्ट जनबंधन के ऄनुसार बढाइ िायेगी;
और, केंरीय सरकार ने, ईि ऄजधजनयम की धारा 5 की ईपधारा (3) के द्वारा प्रदत्त िजियों का प्रयोग करते हुए,
ईि ऄजधकरण द्वारा ऄजतररि ररपोटा प्रस्ट्तुत करने की ऄिजध को भारत के रािपत्र में प्रकाजित भारत सरकार के िल
संसाधन, नदी जिकास और गंगा संरक्षण जिभाग, िल िजि मंत्रालय की ऄजधसूचना संखयांक का0 अ0 2412 (ऄ), तारीख
23 िुलाइ, 2020 द्वारा तारीख 1 ऄगस्ट्त, 2020 से एक िर्ा की और ऄिजध के जलए बढ़ाआ गयी थी तादक ईि धारा के
खंड (क) और खंड (ख) में जिजनर्ददष्ट जनबंधन के जनदेिों का जनदान दकया िा सके;
और, ईि ऄजधकरण ने ररपोटा और जिजनश्चय प्रस्ट्तुत करने के जलए 1 ऄगस्ट्त, 2021 से और एक िर्ा की ऄिजध
बढ़ाने का ऄनुरोध दकया है;
ऄतः, ऄब, केन्रीय सरकार, ऄंतरााजययक नदी िल जििाद ऄजधजनयम 1956 (1956 का 33) की धारा 5 की
ईपधारा (3) के परंतुक द्वारा प्रदत्त िजियों का प्रयोग करते हुए, कृष्णा िल जििाद ऄजधकरण द्वारा ऄजतररि ररपोटा और
जिजनश्चय प्रस्ट्तुत करने की ऄिजध को तारीख 1 ऄगस्ट्त, 2021 से और एक िर्ा की ऄिजध के जलए बढ़ाती है।

NOTIFICATION
New Delhi, the 20th July, 2021.
S.O. 2890(E).—Whereas, the Krishna Water Disputes Tribunal (hereafter in this notification
referred to as the said Tribunal) was constituted on the 2nd April, 2004 vide notification of the Government
of India in the erstwhile Ministry of Water Resources, number S.O. 451(E), dated the 2nd April, 2004,
under section 4 of the Inter-State River Water Disputes Act, 1956 (33 of 1956) (hereafter in this notification
referred to as the said Act), for the adjudication of the water disputes regarding Inter-State river Krishna
and river valley thereof;
And, whereas, the said Tribunal submitted its report and decision under sub-section (2) of section
5 of the said Act on 30th December, 2010;
And, whereas, the Central Government and the Party States of Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka and
Maharashtra preferred their respective references to the said Tribunal under sub-section (3) of section 5 of
the said Act on 29th March, 2011;
And, whereas, the said Tribunal was required to forward to the Central Government a further report
under sub-section (3) of section 5 of the said Act on or before one year from 29th March, 2011;
And, whereas, on the request of the said Tribunal, the period of submission of further report under
sub-section (3) of section 5 of the said Act was extended from time to time vide notifications number S.O

653(E), dated the 29th March, 2012; S.O. 2339 (E), dated the 28th September, 2012; S.O. 916 (E), dated
the 2nd April, 2013; S.O. 2939 (E), dated the 27th September, 2013; S.O. 3515(E), dated the 27th
November, 2013 up to the 31st January, 2014; which was further extended up to 31st July, 2014, vide
Ministry of Water Resources order dated 5th February, 2014; S.O.1290 (E), dated the 15th May, 2014; S.O.
2462 (E), dated the 18th July, 2016; S.O. 2459 (E), dated the 31st July, 2017; S.O. 3950 (E), dated the 9th
August, 2018; and S.O. 3146 (E), dated the 29th August, 2019;
And, whereas, the said Tribunal forwarded to the Central Government its further report under sub-
section (3) of section 5 of the said Act on the 29th November, 2013;
And, whereas, under section 12 of the said Act, the Central Government shall dissolve the Tribunal
after it has forwarded its report and as soon as the Central Government is satisfied that no further reference
to the Tribunal in the matter would be necessary;
And, whereas, section 89 of the Andhra Pradesh Re-organisation Act, 2014 (6 of 2014) provides
that the term of the Krishna Water Disputes Tribunal shall be extended with the terms of reference
specified in clauses (a) and (b) of the said section;
And, whereas, in exercise of the powers conferred under sub-section (3) of section 5 of the said
Act, the Central Government extended the period of submission of further report by the said Tribunal for a
further period of one year with effect from the 1st August, 2020 so as to address the terms of reference
specified in clauses (a) and (b) of the said section vide notification of the Government of India, Department
of Water Resources, River Development and Ganga Rejuvenation, in the Ministry of Jal Shakti, number
S.O. 2412 (E), dated the 23rd July, 2020;
And, whereas, the said Tribunal has requested to extend the period of submission of report and
decision for a period of one year with effect from the 1st day of August, 2021;
Now, therefore, in exercise of the powers conferred under the proviso to sub-section (3) of section
5 of the Inter-State River Water Disputes Act, 1956 (33 of 1956), the Central Government hereby extends
the period of submission of report and decision by the Krishna Water Disputes Tribunal for a period of one
year with effect from 1st day of August, 2021.
