(3) of the Table below of the General Election to the Legislative Assembly, 1999 held from the Constituency specified

conferred

by Sub-section (1) of Section 13 A of the Repre-

sentation of the People Act, 1950 (43 of 1950)

the Election Commission of India in consultation

with Government of Bihar hereby nominates Shri

N. S. Madhavan, IAS (BH-75), as the Chief Elec-

toral Officer for the State of Bihar with effect from

the date he takes over charge and until

further

orders vice Shri A. K. Basu, IAS.

2. Shri N. S. Madhavan shall cease to hold and

hand over forthwith the charge of all or any char-

ges of work under the

Government

Bihar,

which he may be holding before such asumption|

of office.

3. Shri N. S. Madhavan while functioning tw

the Chief Electoral Officer, Bihar shall not hold

any additional charge whatsoever under

the

Government of Bihar except that he should bo

designated Secretary to the Government in charge

of Election Department in the State Secretariat.
