A medium or high-tension circuit breaker device having
abutting arcing (8, 9) contacts and comprising a casing filled
with gas having good dielectric properties and containing a

connected to a second current terminal, and co-operating
with a second tube to define a blast (5) volume and ex-
tended by a blast nozzle (4), said circuit breaker being
provided with a semi-moving tubular second abutting con-
tact (9) receiving thrust at an annular (9A) end from a first
end of a spring (10) having its second end bearing against
an annular shoulder of the first (2) tube, the annular (9A)
end of the second contact co-operating by abutment with an
annular (2A) end of the first (2) tube to open the abutting
(8,9) contacts, wherein the annular end (2A) of the first
tube (2) carries a contact made of a ring of contact arms
(20) sliding over the first abutting (8) contact and carrying
respective arcing contact (21) blocks at their ends, and also
carrying respective permanent contact swellings (22) in the
vicinity thereof, the longitudinal distance between the sec-
ond abutting (9) contact and its annular end (9A) being
slightly greater than the sum of the lengths of one of said
arms (20) and the annular end to which it is secured

titanium carbide particles of 4 to 10 microns, suspending
uniformly the said cleaned TiC particles in a nickel
fluoborate plating bath consisting of nickel in the range of
50 to UK) g/1, boric acid in the range of 25 to 45 g/1, free
fluobonc acid in the rang eof 3 to 10 g/l, under constant
string, placing a nickel-sheet as anode and a steel sheet as
cathode in the said bath, electrolysing at a cathode current
density in the range of 3 to 6 amp/dm2 at a temperature in
the range of 30°C to 70°C

range of 40 to 80°C to the yield the zeigler-natta type soluble

hyposulfit es core monomer system Comprising one or more
monoethy lenically unsaturated monomers selected from the
group consisting of styrene, vinyl toluene, ethylene, vinyl
acetate, vinyl chloride, vinylidene chloride, acrylonitrile,
acrylami(ie, methacrylamide, and (C,-CJ0) alkyl or (C^-C^)
alkenyl esters of (meth) acrylic acid and at least 5 mole
percent of a carboxylic acid or anhydriUe monomer selected
from the group consisting of acrylic acid, methacrylic acid,
acryl'axypropionic acid, methacryloxyprpionic acid,
acrylc jxyacetic acid, methaacryloxyacetic acid, monomethyl
acid t naleate, and monomethyl acid itaconate, crotonic acid,

consist ing of styrene, vinyl toluene, ethylene, vinyl acetate,
vinyl c ;hloride, vinylidene chloride, acrylonitrile, (meth)

(meth) acrylic acid to form a shell polymer on the core
particl es, wherein any monoethylenically unsaturated
carbox ylic acid selected from the group consisting of (meth)
acrylic acid, (meth) acryoxypropionic acid, itaconic acid,
aconiti ic acid, maleic acid, fumaric acid, crotonic acid,
mono methyl maleate, monomethyl fumarate, and
monoi nethyl itaconate in the shell monomer mixture is
presen it in an amount of no more than 10 mole percent of

comprising at least one vinyl monomer and from 2
to 70 weight per cent, based on the mixture, of a
difunctional unsaturated cross-linking monomer as
defined hereinbefore,
(c) incorporating a nonionic, cationic or anoinic
surfactant in. the aqueous phase and/or the monomer
mixture of step (b),
(d) combining and mixing said aqueous phase and sayL
monomer mixture in a mixing vessel under
conditions as described hereinbefore effective to
produce a high internal phase water-in-oil emulsion
containing at least 90 weight per cent, based on the
emulsion, of water as the internal phase,
corresponding to a water to oil weight ratio of at
least 9 : 1 ,
(e) adding a conventional water-soluble or oil-soluble
polymerization catalyst in an amount of from 0.005
to 15 weight per cent based on the monomers to at
least a portion of said high internal phase water-in-
oil emulsion to provide a curable high internal phase^
water-in-oil emulsion, and
(2) polymerizing and cross-linking the curable high
internal phase water-in-oil emulsion at a temperature
of at least 25°C and under conditions as defined
hereinbefore.

An improved process for the preparation of Lovastatin
having the Formula

which process compriess fermentation of rnicrofungus of
genus Aspergillus in conventional culture media, adding
assimilable carbon source, as herein described, continuously
or in calculated batches during fermentation to maintain the
pH of the fermentation broth between 5.5 to 7.5 and to
maintain the residual sugar level in the fermentation broth
between 0.1 to 2.8%, the fermentation broth is acidified,
mixed with extraction solvent, such as herein described and
refluxed at 60"C to obtain mevinolinic acid having the
Formula II. or its salt, the mevinolinic acid or its salt thus
obtained is then subjected to the lactonisation reaction
wherein during the lactonisation reaction, the mevinolinic
acid or its salt is bound to a solid support such as resin, as
herein described and eluting by elutes containing catalyst,
as herein described, to convert the mevinolinic acid or its
salt to Lovastatin.

A process for the preparation of a novel antidiabetic
formulation comprising root extract of Humboldtia decurrens
mixed with conventional pharmaceutical additives such as
solid or liquid diluents, exicipients stabilisers and effective
at a dose of 1 g root extract per Kg. body weight of diabetic
animal, which comprises grinding the dried root nodules of
Humboldtia decurrens to fine powder, extracting the said
powder with a non-polar organic solvent for a period ranging
from 20-24 hrs. at a temperature in the range of 60—80° C,
optionally refluxing with an organic solvent for a period of
15 to 20 hrs., followed by evaporating the solvent to get the
residue, then crystallising the said residue using lower
aliphatic alcohol to get a white powder and mixing the said
white powder with conventional pharmaceutically accepted
additives such as herein described.

An improved process for the production of dried algal
biomass from spirulina comprising culturing a strain of
spirulina in a reactor having a nutrient medium having
sodium bicarbonate, sodium nitrate, dipotassium phosphate
and trace elements such as zinc and venedium and natural
water, said reactor is exposed to sunlight to receive photons
in the range of 1500-2000 lux so as to produce an innoculum
of the optical density in the range of 0.8 to 1.2 measured
at 420 nanometers, subjecting the innoculum so obtained to
a second step of culturing in a second large reactor having
said nutrient contained therein, characterised in thait said
second reactor being exposed to sun light so as to receive
the photons in the range of 40,000 to 60,000 lux to produce
an innoculum of the density of the between 1-1.2 under
constant egitation, said innoculum being subjected to the
step of washing and drying so as to get said dried algal
biomass.
