No. 8/68/2012-NSC—In pursuance of the Government of India Resolution No. A-11011/1/2005-Ad.I

dated 1.6.2005 published as Notification No. 85 dated 1st June 2005 in the Gazette of India, Extraordinary,

Part-III, Section-4, the following persons have been nominated as part-time Members in the National Statistical

Commission, with effect from the date mentioned against each name. The tenure of each Member will be three

years or till he attains the age of sixty-five years, whichever is earlier.

(i) Prof. Bishwanath Goldar, Professor, Institute of Economic Growth, Delhi w.e.f 20th June, 2013.

(ii) Prof. S. Mahendra Dev, Director & Vice Chancellor, Indira Gandhi Institute of Development Research,

Mumbai w.e.f 5th July, 2013.

(iii) Prof. Rahul Mukerjee, Professor, Indian Institute of Management, Kolkata w.e.f 20th July, 2013.

(iv) Shri Ramesh Kolli, Retired Addl. Director General, Central Statistics Office, New Delhi w.e.f 8th July,

2013.

2. The appointment, tenure and service conditions of the part-time Members shall further be governed by

Government of India Notification No. A-11011/1/2005-Ad-I (Vol.IV) dated 8th May 2006 published as

Notification No. 465 dated 10th May 2006 in the Gazette of India, Extraordinary, Part-II, Section-3, Sub-

Section-(ii). The Members of the Commission will have the status of a Secretary to the Government of India.

IG/Admn.(G)/ST.4/Pt./2012—In exercise of the powers vested in the Board of Management under the

provisions of Section 25(2) of the IGNOU Act, 1985 (No. 50 of 1985), the Board at its 113th Meeting held

on 31.05.2012 had made the following amendments to Clause (1)(ii)(a) of Statute 4 of the IGNOU Act. The

Board re-affirmed the same in its 115th & 117th meetings held on 19-09-2012 & 05-01-2013 concerning the

appointment of Directors of the Schools of Studies in the University.

Statute 4—The Directors

After amendment, the amended clause (1)(ii)(a) under Statute 4 shall be read as under:

Clause (1)(ii)(a): 'A Director of a School shall be appointed from amongst the Professors (by rotation)

of the School by the Board of Management on the recommendations of the Vice Chancellor and in case there

is only one Professor or no Professor available/eligible in the School, the senior-most teacher at the level of

Associate Professor in the School shall be given the charge of the Director by rotation.

IG/Admn.(G)/DEC/2013/3148—In terms of the provisons of IGNOU Act, 1985 (No. 50), read with the

decisions of the Distance Education Council and the Board of Management of IGNOU taken at their 40th and

115th meetings held on 08-06-2012 & 19-09-2012 respectively, the President of India in his capacity as the

Visitor of the Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU), has approved repealing of Statute 28 of

IGNOU dealing with the Distance Education Council, as conveyed by the MHRD vide their letter

No. F. 6-20/2010-DL dt. 22.02.2013.

Accordingly, Statute 28 of IGNOU Act hereby stands repealed and deleted with immediate effect.
