Short Title
1.
(a)
These Rules, Bye-Laws and Regulations shall be
called ‘‘The Stock Exchange Rules, Bye-Laws and
Regulations, 1957’’.
Commencement
(b)
They shall come into force on such date as the
Governing Board may appoint and notify in that
behalf.
Subject to Act and Statutory Rules

These Rules, Bye-Laws and Regulations shall by read
subject to the provisions of the Securities Contracts
(Regulation) Act, 1956 and the Securities Contracts
(Regulation) Rules, 1957.
3.
Applicability of Rules, Bye-Laws and Regulation of the
Exchange to other Segments.
Subject to rules and regulations that may be framed and
circulars, notifications and directions that may be issued
by SEBI from time to time, the Rules, Bye-Laws and
Regulation of the Exchange shall, as far as applicable,
govern the debt segment and other segments as may
be notified by the Exchange from time to time.
Explanation :—The debt segment of the Exchange shall
mean a platform provided by the Exchange for dealing in
(a)
‘‘debt securities’’ as defined in SEBI (Issue and
Listing of Debt Securities) Regulations, 2008;
(b)
Government Securities, Treasury Bill, State
Government Loans, SLR and Non SLR Bonds
issued by Financial Institutions, Municipal Bonds,
Single Bond repos, Basket repos and CBLO kind
of products, subject to RBI approval, where
required;
(c)
Securitised Debt Instruments as defined in SEBI
