Handicrafts Board was re-constituted vide Resolution

No. K-12012/5/5/2013/Planning dated 27th December, 2013,

for tenure of two years. The Government of India has decided

to induct Shri Meharban Alam, 34, Harijan Colony, Street

No. 5, Dehradun Road, Chhutmalpur, Distt.-Saharanpur-

247662 as new Non-Official Members of All India Handicrafts

Board, while retaining all officials and Non Official Members

of the existing All India Handicrafts Board constituted vide

Resolution dated 27th December, 2013.

The present strength of the Board shall be 66 Members

comprising of Chairman, Co-Chairperson, Vice-Chairperson,

14 official Members, 8 Institutional Members including

member Secretary and 40 Non-Official Members, in the

reconstituted All India Handicrafts Board.

All other terms and conditions recorded in the resolution

dated 27th December 2013 will, however, remain same and

FUNCTIONS:

The Board shall advise the Government of India on matters relating to Archaeology in India

referred to it by its members. It may also make suggestions on such matters for the consideration of the

Government. The Board may set up Sub Committees, as and when necessary, to examine and report on

specific issues before it.

The Board shall meet once in a year, the dates and venue of the meeting to be decided by the

Chairman.

The tenure of the Members of Parliament elected to be members of the Board shall be limited to

the tenure of their Membership of the House which elected them.

The President is also pleased to order that the Central Advisory Board of Archaeology shall set

up a Standing Committee with the following Composition and Functions.
